Speaker Event on Regional Trade

23 July, 2015 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Zambia is bordered by eight countries and we import significant volumes of merchandise and services from South Africa. Given our advantageous location, why does our trade with neighbouring countries account for such a small proportion of our total trade? To help members and guests understand why this is so, we have invited three key speakers to discuss this issue: the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry to talk about current government policies and actions; the Zambia Development Agency to discuss their regional trade strategy and facilitation programme and the COMESA Director of Trade and Monetary Affairs to tell us about the Tripartite Agreement and what they are doing to support increased regional trade. We have also invited representatives from the embassies and high commissions from neighbouring countries to give us their insights.

We welcome the attendance and participation of members, their guests and other interested parties to one or both these events. Please indicate attendance by email to info@britishchamberzambia.org in good time.

All are welcome to join the British Chamber – if you like what we do and feel it will help you and your company’s business it is the place to be. Go to our Membership Page to find out more and how to join. Membership is open to businesses, organisations and individuals. If you join now it will cost you half the annual rate and provide membership to 31 December 2015. Renewals are due in January 2016.
